Looking back it was a risk.  But it paid off, and launched an industry. In      1979, Gary Badoud convinced TRW Credit to use satellite technology to address their customers worldwide in a seminar addressing new bankruptcy laws and the credit industry.  It seemed like a great idea, but a nationwide live satellite seminar had never been done before. Gary talked HBO into using their facilities during the day to supply the feed (since, at that time, HBO broadcast only at night.)  TRW provided the content, and on June 4, 1980, satellite videoconferencing was a reality. Since then, STV has continued to lead the industry in crafting and executing innovative videoconferencing events with precision and professionalism.  Over the years, we’re proud to say we have been involved with some memorable projects, including the introduction of Apple’s Macintosh Classic Computer, Upjohn’s Rogaine and Coca- Cola’s New Coke.  (We also helped to bring back Classic Coke a few months later.)
